I am not one of those Wedding planners who does the job holding the schedule, respecting times strictly.
There are times that must be respected, like the beginning of the reception, because otherwise it would compromise the whole course of the party. However, I think it is also right to leave the green light to spontaneity because it is a party, and it must be lived in freedom!
The moment of the dance with the dad, well…I recommend to do it after the cut of the cake. Very exciting, a milestone that will be remembered with affection by both for a lifetime.

By the way, the bride could call her dad on the microphone, to invite him to dance, with a dedication for him and maybe dancing to the notes of his favorite song.
Surely, everyone will be moved and it will be beautiful, so the memory will remain imprinted in your hearts...and even if you cry it will be worth it.
